Liverpool Transfer News: Suarez comments on Premier League return

Luis Suarez of FC Barcelona has recently stated that he would only consider playing for English Premier League (EPL) club Liverpool if he returns to England. The Uruguayan would never consider playing for any club other that the Reds.

“You never know what will happen in the future. If I was to return to England, it would be to play for Liverpool and never for another team.” Suarez said to ESPN.

The 29-year-old rose to superstardom during his time at Anfield. Suarez left Liverpool for Barcelona in 2014 after the controversial “biting” incident at the 2014 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup.

Suarez formed a lethal attacking partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar to win the treble for Barcelona in his debut season. It has to be noted that Suarez was not available for selection during his first few months as he was serving a ban.

The 2015-16 season has been equally good for Suarez as the striker has already bagged a total of 18 La Liga goals in 19 appearances, as reported by WhoScored.com.

Suarez maybe having a fantastic time with Barcelona, however it has to be mentioned that his evolution as a player happened at Liverpool. His final season at Anfield was superb and it won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Suarez formed a fantastic partnership with Daniel Sturridge and almost helped Liverpool to a Premier League title. Suarez won the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year award that season.

Suarez’s relationship with the Liverpool fans was amazing. However, he was constantly attacked by the British press. The negative attacks may have been the reason which forced Suarez out of the Premier League.

Although Suarez left with a cold heart for the English press, things have cooled a lot since his departure. If the Uruguayan chooses to return to his former club, he would be accepted with open arms.

If Suarez returns, the Liverpool squad will be massively improved. He is one of the best strikers in the world. However, a return in near future seems unlikely and Liverpool faithful’s should not get their hopes high.

Suarez seems content playing for Barcelona and is expected to win countless trophies for the Catalan giants.
