Is Kysre Gondrezick better than Stephen Curry?
Michigan state high school saw a record being written when Kysre Gondrezick scored 72 points in a single basketball game. The 72 points was out of her team’s 80, which made the occasion special.
The amazing feat saw Benton Harbor score an amazing victory over Buchanan in the MHSAA District opener. The final score of the Michigan high school single-game read 80-78.
The Benton Harbor senior averages 40 points in a game. The victory was scored after double overtime and the Michigan Miss Basketball candidate broke the previous state record of 63 when she scored 72 points in the game. The previous record was held by Debra Walker of the Detroit Mumford in 1979, according to Detroit Free Press.
However, if one looks at the scorebook of the game, it will be evident of how historic Kysre’s achievement was. Here’s a picture of the scorebook.

The victory was amazing since Buchanan was leading the game by 5 and had the ball with 17 seconds left on the clock in the first overtime. However, they threw away an inbound pass which led to Gondrezick hit a three-pointer. It was followed by a Buchanan player making a free throw. Gondrezick then went on to hit another three and forced the second overtime.
The 5-foot-9-senior guard signed her national letter of intent to Michigan last November. Gondrezick has scored more than 2,700 points in her high school career. She has an elder sister, Kalabrya Gondrezick, who is a freshman at Michigan State.
After the 72-point performance, Gondrezick can be considered better than Golden State’s Stephen Curry. At least for a day.
