The top two point guards in the Atlanta Hawks rotation—starting PG Jeff Teague and back-up Dennis Schroder– are available for trades this season, according to a report.
Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports cites “rival executives” as the sources claiming a trade for one of Teague or Schroder is available before the NBA’s trade deadline set February 18, 2016.
Hawks had been soliciting offers for Teague or Dennis Schroder, per rival execs. Though recently they have focused more on Teague.

The report also added that the Hawks are aggressively pursuing a Teague trade in recent weeks which means that the Hawks most likely see Schroder as a legitimate starter if Teague is traded and if they don’t get a starting PG in return in the probable trade.
The Hawks are 27-19 for the season through Tuesday’s games and are in third place in the Eastern Conference. However, upgrading the squad by trading one of Teague or Schroder is expected, as the team is not seen to seriously challenge the conference’s top squad, the Cleveland Cavaliers led by LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
Depending on whom they net in return for Teague or Schroder plus other Hawks who may be part of the trade package, the Hawks could very well give the Cavaliers a run for their money come the NBA Playoffs.
The timing of the Hawks trade rumors also comes after a tough January performance for the Atlanta squad; they are just 6-6 for the month and have lost two of their last three games—including to “lowly” West teams, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns although both defeats came on the road.
Teague averages 14.3 points, 5.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.3 minutes per game while Schroder averages 10.9 points, 4.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Hawks this season.
