When Talk ‘N Text traded for the 2nd pick in the 2015 draft to get Troy Rosario from the NU Bulldogs, it proved to be a wise move as the bold rookie helped the Tropang Texters get the win against the NLEX Road Warriors in a nail-biter – 90-88.
The Texters was trailing 6 points coming at the end of the 3rd quarter had relied on Rosario who anchored their comeback by scoring 11 of his 20 points in the final quarter. He had help from veteran Danny Seigle who contributed 7 of his 17 points and combined for 18 of the 29 points of Talk N’ Text in the 4th quarter.
“NLEX is just really tough. they beat us in the elimination round and we barely squeaked past them this time,” said TNT head coach who is not satisfied with his team’s performance.
“We have to play better in the next round.”
The Road Warriors were able to keep it close for the final possession at 90-88 but failed to get over the hump with Anthony missing critical free throws and a shot that could have put the game into overtime with 2.3 seconds to go.
Three other Tropang Texters who also scored double figures were Ryan Reyes (12), Jayson Castro (10) and Larry Fonacier (10).
NLEX Road Warriors were anchored by their center, Asi Taulava who had 22 points and 8 rebounds while Sean Anthony contributed a double-double performance with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
