The Mahindra Enforcers formally announced that Augustus Gilchrist will be their import for the 2016 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Gilchrist is a new name to the league, with Mahindra Enforcers (Formerly known as Kia Carnival) had their eyed set on bringing back Hamady N’Diaye after a successful run during the 2016 PBA Governor’s Cup but was available due to his current playing contract in Israel.
As per N’Diaye and Gildchrist’s agent, Sheryl Reyes, “He (Gilchrist) last played for Cyprus and played in the NBA D-League, Hamady (N’Diaye) is currently playing in Israel and was unavailable to come back so they (Mahindra) decided to select Augustus (Gilchrist).”
Gilchrist, who stands at 6’10”, is only 26-years-old and having NCAA career totals of 11.41 points, 5.36 rebounds and almost a block per game in an average of 26 minutes of gameplay for the South Florida Bulls back in 2008-2012.
Gilchrist also had a good run in the NBA D-League with the Iowa Energy from 2012-2014 before going abroad and play for the Vitrus Bologna and Albacomp Basketball teams.
