Barako Bull continues to play the spoiler’s role against the Philippine Basketball Association’s top teams as they add Talk ‘N Text to their list of victims via a 105-98 victory in overtime at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Willie Wilson had a career night and produced monster statistics with 28 points, 20 rebounds, and a blocked shot with 15 of his 28 points coming in at the 3rd quarter. Wilson even scored when his team needed it the most by sinking 5 of the 9 points scored by Barako Bull Energy during overtime.
RR Garcia, the 2010 UAAP Most Valuable Player, followed Wilson’s charge by keeping Barako Bull in the chase by scoring 10 points in the 4th quarter and finishing the game with 22 points.
The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters were led by the 2015 1st overall draft pick with 20 points. Jayson Castro added 19 points and 7 assists while Troy Rosario contributed 18 points, 9 rebounds, 2 block shots and 3 three-point feild goals in a losing effort.
“We have been emphasizing to the team to have that sense of urgency after that heartbreaking loss to San Miguel,” said Barako Bull coach Coy Banal.

Barako improved to 4-4 while the Texters slid to 4-3.
This was Barako Bull’s first win after dropping their last two games and the win also gives them a striking chance in making the PBA Philippine Cup Quarter Finals.
