Ronda Rousey fans rejoice.
After months of speculation, news now comes in that the former bantamweight champion is ready to make a comeback.
Yes, you read that right for the news comes from the horse’s mouth himself.
In an interview to The Neighbourhood radio show on Wednesday, UFC President Dana White revealed that Ronda Rousey might return to the Octagon in November. He said that Rousey will face the winner of the upcoming fight between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate at UFC 196.
“The winner of that fight will fight Ronda probably in November,” White revealed, reports FOX Sports.
Rousey suffered her first MMA career defeat at UFC 193. Holly Holm sent Rousey spiralling down the mat with a powerful side kick in November last year.
Ever since her defeat, Rousey has taken some time off from her MMA career. She is currently focusing on her movie career.
It was also rumoured that Rousey and Holm will have a rematch at UFC 200 in July. But after Ronda confirmed that she will fulfil her movie commitments first, the plan of a rematch at UFC 200 was dropped.
Rousey is starring in Mile 22 and a remake of Road House. She has also recently bagged a new movie project called Do Nothing Bitches where she will be co-starring with Tina Fey.
Rousey has previously acted in numerous movies like Expendables 3 and the box-office hit Furious 7.
While Rousey hasn’t confirmed news of her comeback yet, White believes that she is as eager as ever to reclaim her bantamweight crown.
According to White, Ronda definitely hasn’t lost her edge yet and will be back in UFC in no time.
“She’s very intense. She’s a bad-ass,” White said about Rousey.
“She’ll be back,” he added.
If and when the rematch between Rousey and Holm happens, it will surely be one of the biggest UFC fights in history.
