MANILA — The second NBA store has opened shop in the Philippines over the weekend at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Megamall.

No less than five-time champion Ron Harper was on hand to grace the store’s opening and also interacted with the fans and members of the media.

“You got to understand, you got to feel special. There is only one other NBA Store, and that is in New York. You have two in the Philippines right now. Think about that,” said Harper, a multiple NBA champion with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.

Players from the Philippine Basketball Association were also present at the event last October 16.

With the NBA a household name in the Philippines, it comes as no surprise to the top honchos of the International Athletic Trading Company, Inc. (IATC), the group behind NBA Store Philippines, that putting up a another branch came less than 12 months after the launch of the first one in Glorietta in Makati City December of last year.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint with the opening of the second NBA Store in the Philippines,” said Carlo Singson, Associate Vice President and Country Manager for the Philippines, NBA Asia. “IATC is the ideal partner in our efforts to outfit more Filipinos in their favorite NBA apparel and to offer the widest range of NBA merchandise in the Philippines.”

Just like the first one, the biggest NBA Store outside of the United States, the Megamall branch will stock on an extensive selection of NBA products from all 30 teams, including: official jerseys, footwear, performance gear, lifestyle apparel, basketballs, toys, and other collectibles.

Fans can also find autographed NBA memorabilia as well as a personalized jersey service.

The NBA Store will carry products from brands such as Adidas, NIKE, Under Armour, New Era, Panini, Spalding, Stance, 2K Sports, and many more, including select NBA apparel exclusive to the store.
Further expansion was confirmed by Melvin Lloyd Lim, President and CEO of IATC.

Earlier this month, the flagship NBA Store in the Philippines received the 2015 Asia Sports Industry Gold Award for the “Best Sports Retail Campaign” in recognition of the store’s industry leading standards.
