As the curtains close in on another year Google enthusiasts are still waiting for the 2016 edition of the Nexus 7. Rumor mills had earlier been agog with excitement, but as things turned out that the Pixel range of smartphones was actually the reported Nexus 7. Some even predicted that there will not be any Google Nexus 7 2016. But as latest reports go there is a 2016 Nexus 7 and it will be released in this calendar year.

Though sources are unable to confirm a name for the device whether the name Nexus be retained or be discarded in favor of the edgiest Pixel. Irrespective of its name it is pegged to be a strong contender for the segment catered to by the iPad Pro.

As the year ends the specifications become clearer. Snapdragon 820 chipset is set to power the muscles of the device along with 4GB of RAM. The disk space is said to be 64GB and will run on the Andromeda OS. According to some reports HTC has joined forces with Google for the Google Nexus 7 2016 while others maintain that Huawei is more likely the next manufacturing partner.

Though  a star performer the Google nexus 7 2016 is like to be much cheaper than the other devices in its class according to universityherald.com Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmed reports on the device and indications that it will be friendly toward the pocket are always welcome as then they will be able to indulge in their tablet fantasies without burning a big hole in their pockets.
