After the unveiling of the Mate 9 by Huawei, comparisons, especially one-on-one’s, with Apple iPhone 7 Plus is but inevitable. The Mate 9 makes use of a new chipset i.e., the Kirin 960. Its processor is considered the processor amongst smartphones the performs the best. It makes use of EMUI 5.0 and comes equipped with SuperCharge technology that gives the phone a day’s charge from merely 20 minutes of charging.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the Kirin 9 is the world’s first in that it features an ARM Cortex-A73/A53 Octa-core CPU along with a G71 Octa-core GPU from Mali. The resulting configuration leads to the best CPU performance possible in multicore processors of smartphone SoCs. Power consumption is also reduced to buying up to 15 percent.
With the new Kirin, energy efficiency gets a whopping 40 percent boost and a huge 180 percent boost in overall performance. The performance of graphics soars to over 400 percent it is expected when the Mate 9 is compared to its predecessors. Also, the battery with 4,000 mAh and Supercharge tech charges 50 percent more quickly.
The Mate 9 also has a new built-in feature for battery safety- Super Safe 5 that monitors the temperature and voltage in real time to keep at bay all risks to users.
On the other hand, most of the specifications of Apple iPhone 7 Plus is nothing that needs to be specified. As Recombu sums it up both the phones have a power packed processor, extraordinary HD displays and an attractive design.
However, the main difference between the two lies in their cameras, the Mate 9 has dual cameras on its rear. The main 12MP color sensor is accompanied by a 20MP monochrome one.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus too features a dual lens setup with a telephoto lens and a wide-angle sensor. Image stabilization is the best in the class for Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
But many techies rate the Mate camera as better than the one of iPhone 7 Plus.
