The Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the most anticipated smartphones today especially since a disastrous 2016. From exploding Galaxy Note 7 to massive recall and total cancellation, Samsung has a lot riding on Galaxy S8’s release.
Over the past few months, more and more leaks started to surface on Galaxy S8. While most are nothing but rumors, some make a lot of sense. By the look of things, Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone seems the next best Android to beat.
Rightfully so, as the South Korean company needs to execute it to perfection to gain consumer trust after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. As the year comes to a close, more information about the device is surfacing. The company confirmed recently to Reuters its plans for a virtual AI assistant.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung could add a dedicated hardware button from the Viv Labs technology. Its an artificial intelligence platform from the Siri co-creators. While this is news to many consumers, the main issue however is its release.
Galaxy S8 Release Date
An official Galaxy S8 release date is obviously months away. But consumers can expect an early release based on the company’s track record. The release date gets earlier each year since the original Galaxy S, with the Galaxy S7 announced last February and released in March.
For next year’s Galaxy S8, it will likely have an announcement at the end of February, a day ahead of Mobile World Congress. The release date could be as early as March, just like what happened this year with Galaxy S7. Gottabemobile suggests that Samsung will announce Galaxy S8 on February 26, 2017 in Spain. Its release will be on Friday, March 10.
Galaxy S8 Features
Among the most notable features of Galaxy S8 is its bigger display. According to The Investor, it will come with a 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch display. It will also be bezel-free, curbed-design with the front entirely glass-made. The fingerprint and Iris Eye scanner are embedded inside the glass and will feature on-screen buttons.
Additionally, the upcoming Samsung smartphone will have an improved battery life and dual cameras on back. It will also integrate auto-focus on the front camera as well as IP68 dust and water resistance. Numerous reports suggest that it will have a 6GB of RAM and a 256GB storage option. However, that has yet to be confirmed.
Rumors are also rife that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a 4K resolution display, improved virtual reality, pressure sensitive display and improved dual cameras with a new feature called Samsung Smart Glow. If there is truth to these rumors, Galaxy S8 will definitely the Android smartphone to beat next year.
