The third installment of NCIS New Orleans started two weeks ago and it was also the last time the fans saw actress Zoe McLellan portraying the role of Merri Brody.

According to earlier reports, McLellan’s departure was a creative decision made by the showrunners and it was all part of the show’s storyline. In the second season, Brody’s exploits and decisions compromised her relationship with her team. One particular event was when she had a relationship with Agent John Russo who turned out to be a spy.

So what really made McLellan decide to exit the show? Several rumors impose that McLellan’s departure was due to personal reasons. According to Morning Ledger, McLellan is currently busy being a mother to her son. It was reported that due to her hectic schedule with the show, her relationship with her son somehow got affected. Also, she is currently working on an upcoming screenplay with the Writers Guild of America.

Another rumor surfaced about McLellan’s departure and it has something to do with the pay. Rumors suggested that McLellan had requested for a higher salary but got turned down by the show, FX News Call reported.

In the recent episodes of the show, a new character was introduced in replacement to McLellan’s character. FBI special agent Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito) is expected to make an impact to the show.
