World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Chris Jericho took to Instagram after the latest episode of SmackDown Live. The 46-year-old thanked the WWE universe for their support during his latest run in the wrestling promotion.

Jericho lost his United States Championship to Kevin Owens in the main event of SmackDown Live this week. It has to be noted that Manhasset, New York won the title a few days ago at Payback pay-per-view (PPV).

Owens, the two-time US Champion attacked Jericho after the match, thus writing him off WWE television for a foreseeable future. However, Jericho took to Instagram later to send a message to the WWE Universe.

The latest episode of SmackDown Live marked the end of Chris Jericho’s latest run with the WWE. The veteran wrestler will no embark on a tour with his band, Fozzy.

Could this be Jericho’s last in WWE?

Since 2010, Jericho has been more focused on his band, which initially he tagged as his side-project. Between 2011 and 2013, Jericho appeared sporadically on WWE television owing to his commitments to Fozzy.

In 2014, Jericho returned from a year-long hiatus and began his feud with The Wyatt Family. In 2015, Jericho revealed that he had signed an exclusive contract with WWE. This allowed him to work on house shows exclusively.

In 2016, Jericho made a full-time return to WWE and began his feud with AJ Styles. He then went on to feud with Dean Ambrose later in the year. He also formed a tag-team with Kevin Owens and created The List of Jericho and the scarf gimmick.

Jericho defeated Roman Reigns on the April 9th episode of Monday Night RAW to win the United States Championship. However, at WrestleMania 33, he lost the title to Kevin Owens and then won it back again on Payback.

Fozzy will commence the Judas Rising Tour from May 5, 2017. Fozzy released their first single titled Judas via Loudwire on April 27th.

Jericho’s best run in WWE

Jericho’s latest run in the WWE is termed as the best of his career in the wrestling promotion. The 46-year-old is still one of the most popular superstars of the WWE roster and receives a huge pop in each of his entrances.

Although Jericho will be greatly missed by the WWE Universe, one hopes that his hiatus is temporary and that the WWE Universe will get to see him back on WWE TV eventually.
