Phil Brooks, famously known as CM Punk, has been out of the WWE for almost three years. However, WWE rumors have been suggesting that he could be returning at WrestleMania 33. The 38-year-old winless MMA fighter has finally responded to the WrestleMania 33 rumors.
CM Punk WWE return rumors
It was rumored a couple of weeks ago that CM Punk is one of the favorites to make a return to the WWE at WrestleMania 33. British betting site Unibet listed him along with other superstars such as Shane McMahon, The Undertaker, Bill Goldberg, The Rock and Kurt Angle.
The Straightedge Superstar left the WWE in 2014 due to his frustration about the direction of his character. He then signed with the UFC that same year but he lost his MMA debut in September after two years of training.
CM Punk responds to WrestleMania 33 appearance
The rumors of Punk appearing at WrestleMania 33 have set the internet on fire for the past couple of weeks. The former WWE superstar finally gave his comments about the rumors via his glorious Twitter account.
Yes. I also prevented a Ford plant from moving to Mexico. It’s true. Going to be big. So big. Bigly. Tremendously bigly. https://t.co/u5xj4ZD4Of

As you can see, Punk was very sarcastic about his answer which means he is not going to WrestleMania 33. He also took a shot at newly-elected president Donald Trump. He is also currently in a lawsuit battle against the WWE’s doctor.
What’s next for CM Punk?
Punk told MMA Fighting in an interview that he is in contact with UFC president Dana White. He mentioned that he is very confident about fighting again inside the Octagon, possibly next year.
“I don’t want to speak for him, but I think if he wants to kill it, he would have killed it right then. Until anything is official, I don’t want to say either way what he’s thinking or what he’s thinking. But yeah, I’m pretty confident that it’ll be in the UFC,” Punk said.
