World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) NXT superstar Ember Moon has suffered an injury. She will miss the upcoming NXT pay-per-view (PPV) Takeover: Chicago scheduled to take place later this month.

WWE posted a video with Ember making the announcement with her arm in a sling. Ember says she will be better than ever when she comes back.WWE.com has also confirmed that Ember Moon will not be seen performing at NXT’s upcoming PPV.

Ember’s injury not part of kayfabe

Ember’s injury occurred during the No. 1 Contender Battle Royal that William Regal had arranged to determine who will challenge Asuka for her NXT Women’s Championship Title. Ruby Riot, Nikki Cross and Ember Moon were attacked by the champion, Asuka, who sent Moon flying through the turnbuckles with the latter taking a fall to the outside, falling on her shoulder.

Most fans and critics could tell that Ember was in fact injured. It is only now that we have official confirmation from WWE that her injuries are not a part of the storyline and that she will be missing the Fatal 4-Way Match for the Women’s Title at NXT Takeover: Chicago.

For now, the NXT Women’s Title match at Takeover will now see champion Asuka defend against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot in a Triple Threat Match. It has been confirmed that the 28-year-old will miss in-ring action for four to five weeks.

“When I get back, I’m going to be better than ever,” Moon stated.

Ember hopeful of quick return to the ring

Ember hopes to be back in the ring soon and she mentioned that she will be better than ever when she comes back. NXT fans will surely miss Ember at Takeover and we hope that the Superstar will recover soon and come back to challenge Asuka or whoever will hold the NXT Women’s Championship in the coming weeks.
