British Boxing star Tony Bellew made a surprise appearance as a special guest bell ringer when World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) visited his home city of Liverpool. The WBC cruiserweight champion was at the Echo Arena to see the company’s grappling superstars in action.

The 34-year-old had had a few words for WWE superstar Triple H. Bellew, who is a self-confessed WWE fan revealed he would be interested in appearing at a show in the future when he retires from professional boxing.

“Tony would like to slap Triple H’s backside…I like the sound of that, or doing a ‘Stone Cold’ stunner on Triple H, he was a phenomenal wrestler in his day, so I wouldn’t mind a little go at that,” Bellew said to Sky Sports News HQ.

Bellew, the reigning WBC Cruiserweight Champion, is currently at the peak of his powers after winning the biggest boxing match of his career against David Haye on March 4th. This was Bellew’s first Heavyweight bout and launched him into superstardom in the British boxing scene.

Some people may also be familiar with Tony Bellew from his appearance as “Pretty” Ricky Conlan in the 2015 film ‘Creed’, the latest movie in Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Rocky’ series. With fans eagerly awaiting his next move, Bellew has teased that a move into professional wrestling may be a possibility.

Bellew’s future in WWE?

Bellew is 34 years old and his certainly reaching the end of his boxing career. There are rumors of him fighting again. However, the man from Liverpool, United Kingdom only has a couple of more potential fights left in him.

Speculation has already begun regarding his future after retirement from boxing. He already has experience of being a pundit at boxing events so could go in that direction. However, the self-confessed WWE fan would surely love to work with the company again should the opportunity arise.

Bellew in a war of words with Neville

Bellew helped kick off a clash between Newcastle’s WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville and fan favourite Austin Aries last night. He even had some choice words for Neville – who was obviously feeling confident when he challenged The Bronze Bomber!

“I had the guy telling me he was going to beat me up and stuff like that, I just told him ‘listen son, I’m the boss, get too close, you’re going to get knocked out!,” Bellew said.

“It’s all part of the show. People want to be entertained and it doesn’t get much more entertaining than the WWE.”

Bellew has previously said a showdown between him and the American WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder could be like WrestleMania. The pair became embroiled in a heated confrontation at the weigh-in ahead of the heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko.

Bellew is now eyeing a heavyweight title shot after his victory over a seriously injured Haye.
