WWE fans rejoice as Bret “Hitman” Hart returns

Bret “Hitman” Hart will be returning in WWE’s payback pay-per-view on May 1 after a successful prostate cancer surgery.

WWE reported that Hart had undergone a surgery on February 12 at Rockyview General Hospital in his native Calgary, Alberta, Canada after an early diagnosis of prostate cancer.

“Well, there’s always a chance it could come back, but it seems my cancer was contained within my prostate. I have to get checked every three months for the next couple of years, and eventually, it will be once a year, and eventually, in 10 years, they’ll tell me that I’m cancer-free forever.” Hart said via WWE.

It’s good that Hart had an early diagnosis of his illness to be completely cured. Prostate cancer can manifest and then grow for years unknowingly, and upon diagnosis, it has already spread all over your body.

However, in Hart’s situation, it seemed like they already removed the cancer cells and Hart can live a normal life again, and could return to the WWE ring, possibly.

For now, Hart will not return to WWE as a fighter, but will only be in the corner of his niece Natalya who will be fighting the daughter of his rival Ric Flair, Charlotte.

Natalya was the daughter of his former tag team partner, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and his sister Ellie Hart. “Hitman” and “The Anvil” were formerly called The Hard Foundation that became a two-time tag team champion in WWE. The tie between the two great wrestlers cuts after Hard decided to pursue his solo career.

After Hart’s WWE, the wrestling fans were surely eager to see his comeback fight in the ring with his longtime rival Rick Flair who suffered a hard beating from Bret “The Hitman” Hart in their fight in 1992 for the WWE Heavyweight title.
