Vince McMahon, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) chairman and CEO recently took to social media and congratulated former multiple-time WWE World Champion Batista on his 15-year anniversary with the wrestling promotion. Batista responded to his former employers tweet.
The Animal’s relationship with the WWE higher-ups is not one of the best of late. However, the professional wrestler-turned-Hollywood star was recently spotted hanging out with SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon.
Vince McMahon extending friendly gesture to Batista
In light of the recent event, Vince McMahon extended the olive branch to The Animal. Batista replying to the tweet could imply that the ice is starting to melt and the WWE Universe may hope for Batista’s return in 2017.

Batista made his debut on an episode of SmackDown as Deacon Batista, the enforcer to Reverend D’Von Dudley. His in-ring debut would come in a match with D’Von against Randy Orton and Farooq. Batista pinned future partner Orton in that match.
The 6-ft-6 powerhouse rose to prominence in the WWE after joining the heel stable Evolution back in 2003. The move saw him winning several titles in the wrestling promotion which includes the World Heavyweight Title and the WWE Championship. After a successful run, the 48-year-old left the company in 2010.
On October 6th, 2012 Batista made his mixed-martial-arts (MMA) debut – a fight that to date is his only MMA bout – defeating Vince Lucero via TKO in Round 1. The 48-year-old returned to WWE in 2014, winning the 2014 Royal Rumble, but would part ways with WWE once again owing to creative differences backstage.
Batista making a WWE return
Batista has hinted previously that he would be interested in making a WWE return. However, it would only be for non-televised events. The Animal reportedly turned down a huge offer to appear at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.
The man from Washington, D.C. has appeared in a lot of Hollywood movies, which also includes a James Bond franchise-film. He recently made an appearance as Drax The Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which released in May, this year.
It’s no secret that the semi-retired professional wrestler and the WWE had heated differences when his last run with the company ended 3 years back. Nevertheless, be it professional wrestling or any other business, everybody loves a comeback, and the recent re-acquaintance between WWE and Batista, seems to point toward a potential return of The Animal.
