Bill Goldberg is set to return to the WWE after a 12-year hiatus from the wrestling company as announced on the Oct. 10 edition of RAW and fans are eagerly waiting for his comeback along with a possible rematch with superstar Brock Lesnar.

The announcement came after it had been heavily rumored that a plan for Goldberg and Lesnar is underway to have a wrestling match at Survivor Series next month. With Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s promoter, throwing down the gauntlet this week, Goldberg will have to answer the loudmouth promoter’s challenge soon.

Goldberg vs Lesnar was last seen at WrestleMania XX back in 2004 where the match was remembered for the wrong reasons. Both wrestlers were rumored to be on the way out of the company at that time, so the crowd rejected the match by booing them both relentlessly.

However, it looks like the two wrestling legends will be rekindling their rivalry in WWE as Goldberg will be appearing on the wrestling organization this coming Monday to address Heyman’s challenge to fight his advocate Lesnar.

Right after Heyman made the challenge, Goldberg took to Twitter his intention to answer the call for the fight and it virtually confirms that a Goldberg vs Lesnar will happen soon. Although no details were given on when or how the match will happen, the speculated match looks like to be a lock.

It is telling that WWE might be going with Lesnar vs. Goldberg II sooner rather than later, as opposed to saving it for WrestleMania 33. That might be for the better as it opens up Lesnar for other possible matchups on the grandest stage of them for all.

WWE need to capitalize on this match as the organization has lost quite a bit of its luster over the years and with 2K17‘s recent release, it will be a perfect promotion both for the latest game and the WWE.
