A lot of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) officials are not in favor of Charlotte Flair’s recent face turn in SmackDown Live. Hence, the company has already teased a heel turn for the 31-year-old at this week’s episode of SmacDown Live in a backstage segment.

There is a lot of opposition within the WWE creative regarding Charlotte being turned as the good person. Hence, there is a possibility that the former RAW Women’s Champion will be back as a heel character sooner than expected, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Live.

Charlotte’s face turn too soon

Charlotte Flair became an exclusive to SmackDown Live after WWE’s recent superstar shake up. Upon her arrival to WWE’s blue brand, Ric Flair’s daughter got involved in the SmackDown Women’s Championship picture, much to the displeasure of Natalya, Carmella and Tamina.

Hence, newly formed The Welcoming Committee attacked Flair and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi during the title match. This resulted in Charlotte turning face.

According to reports, several WWE officials were in support of the heel character to continue. This is even after she arrived on the blue brand. They do not consider this at the perfect time to utilize Charlotte Flair as a fan-favorite.

Due to this difference of ideas among the WWE creative, Flair’s face turn could be short lived. She may turn on Naomi and Becky Lynch very soon.

Charlotte already hinting towards heel turn

In a backstage segment on SmackDown Live’s recently concluded episode, Charlotte actually blamed the SmackDown Women’s Champion for costing Becky Lynch her match against Natalya. It was Lynch who had to step in to calm them down.

Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi will be teaming up to face the trio of Natalya, Carmella and Tamina, also known as The Welcoming Committee at the upcoming SmackDown Live exclusive pay-per-view (PPV) Backlash.

Throughout her stint in WWE, Charlotte has excelled in portraying both face and heel characters. However, the negative persona helped her to establish herself as The Queen of WWE. It has also aided in building up the impressive 16-0 WWE PPV winning streak.

The recent changes in her character are indeed refreshing. These are actually helping to build up the anticipation for the upcoming heel turn.
