Goldberg made a massive announcement on the recent episode World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) RAW. The former World Championship Wrestling (WCW) wrestler opened the show and announced his intention of going for one more title run.
After taking just 84 seconds to defeat Brock Lesnar in the Survivor Series 2016, many expected Goldberg to make a farewell speech on RAW. However, this was not to be as the 49-year-old made a surprising announcement.
On his way back to the dressing room after the match with Brock Lesnar, Goldberg was probed by RAW commissioner Stephanie McMahon. She asked if the former world champion had “one more title run left in him?”
“So do I? So you bet, I got one more title run left in me. As Stephanie McMahon said, the road to the title is through the Royal Rumble. And in the Royal Rumble match, everyone is NEXT.” Goldberg announced to receive an outstanding response from the crowd.

The man from Tusla, Oklahoma was involved in the 2004 Royal Rumble. Goldberg entered the Rumble match at Number 30. However, he was interrupted by Brock Lesnar and eventually eliminated by Kurt Angle.
Goldberg’s participation in the 2017 Royal Rumble will be after 12 years. The 30th anniversary of the Rumble will take place at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas on January 29, 2017. This will be the second time in 20 years when the pay-per-view (PPV) will be hosted in the particular venue.
WWE’s future plan with Goldberg
WWE is known for throwing returning superstars back into the world title picture. They did it with Hulk Hogan in 2002. The same was done with The Rock at the Royal Rumble in 2013.
With Goldberg getting a monumental hype by squashing Lesnar at the recently concluded Survivor Series, it looks extremely possible that he will get nothing but top draw from the company creative.
This seems to be an exciting time for Goldberg fans. It will certainly be interesting to keep a watch on WWE RAW for the upcoming weeks.
