The WWE will be holding the 2017 Royal Rumble at the Alamodome and they want to sell out the 65,000-seater stadium. In order to do it, the company has reportedly contacted former WWE superstars to return for the event and one of them was Kurt Angle.
WWE reportedly contacts Kurt Angle for Royal Rumble return
According to PW Stream, the WWE has been in contact with many of its former WWE superstars. One of them was Angle, who is a five-time WWE champion and the only Olympic Gold Medalist in WWE history. The report noted that it could be a one-off appearance.
The 48-year-old wrestling legend has been wrestling on select dates since leaving TNA Wrestling earlier this year. He has told multiple interviews that he has talked with Triple H and Vince McMahon, and his comeback will happen either in 2017 or 2018.
WWE 2K18 Pre-Order Exclusive Character could be Kurt Angle
Justin LaBar of WrestleZone believes that Angle will be with the WWE in 2017. He noted that the annual return of legends for WWE 2K is becoming a great tradition every fall. Even though it will late in 2017, it is still a return that will get a lot of people talking.
“Angle is one of the very few names left to insert and tout the fantasy warfare thrill of playing as him in the game. As said about many other legends in recent years, we can say the same for Kurt: “it’s time for him to come home,” LaBar wrote.
Kurt Angle is one of the best ever
The Olympic hero is one of the greatest wrestlers ever. He can wrestle a mop and have a good match. He deserves to return to the WWE and get inducted into the Hall of Fame. The man also has some gas left in the tank and matches with Rusev, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Cesaro are dream matches.
