World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Sasha Banks recently opened the lid about her feelings on the company’s crossover show on E! Network “Total Divas”. The 24-year-old wrestler clearly mentioned her intention of being part of the women’s revolution in wrestling and stay far away from the show.
“There’s always gonna be, so to say, Divas. And I’m in a category of wrestlers. It’s not for me. I won’t ever be on that show. Saying it out there for a fact.” Sasha said to Busted Open Radio.
Before the arrival of Sasha, Charlotte and Becky Lynch, WWE roster was filled with pretty face women in the form of Nikki and Brie Bella who constituted the Divas division. The Bella Twins lacked the wrestling ability which Natalya, Paige, Banks, Lynch and Charlotte possessed.
WWE has recently dropped the term “Divas” from its promotion and have replaced with the Women’s Division. This unlike before has equaled the women as WWE superstars like their men counterparts. The promotion also introduced a new championship belt which was won by Charlotte at WrestleMania 32.
Charlotte along with Sasha and Becky stole the spotlight at Mania 32 with many experts and journalists claiming their triple-threat match as the best of the night. This has to be considered a huge revolution considering the division was going down ever since AJ Lee left the company.
Sasha’s reveal on Total Divas clearly highlights the fact that she is not interested in being a part of a reality show which highlights drama and emotions of relationships for the world to see. She would rather make her name and fame in the wrestling side of the business. The wrestler from Fairfield, California is already loved dearly by the WWE Universe, and going by the trend is soon set to win the Women’s title at SummerSlam 2016.
Meanwhile, Total Divas recently finished its fifth season with Season 6 declared to be released on the fall this year. Nikki and Brie Bella will continue to be a part of the show with Naomi returning. Lana, Maryse and Renee Young will be the new entrants.
