World Championship Wrestling (WCW) legend Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) recently shared his view on when he will be inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame (HOF). As WrestleMania 32 approaches, the “Master of Diamond Cutter” also shared his views on WWE’s treatment of Sting ahead of the “Masked Vigilante’s” induction into the HOF class of 2016.
“At some point, I’m sure it’s going to happen, I don’t know how it couldn’t but you never know. It’s not something I really focus on, I know that I should be in there. It’s not a big deal.” DDP said on being asked about his possible induction into the WWE HOF to Inquisitr.com.
On being asked about Sting’s treatment by WWE, DDP replied that he was “surprised” that Sting never had a clause in his contract which made sure of him winning at least one pay-per-view match.
“They’re never gonna put him on the same level as the top guys there I think he still got a hell of a push, I would have loved his push” DDP said.
The 59-year-old also shared a wish of being in a match that never happened. DDP mentioned that he would have loved to face Randy Orton 10 years ago as it had the potential of “blowing the roof off”. The man from Point Pleasant, New Jersey stated that he feels blessed of his run in professional wrestling and couldn’t have asked for more.
DDP was a host of WCW wrestlers who were inducted into the WWE system. However, none of them actually made it big within the Vince McMahon owned wrestling promotion. It showed that WWE will never promote a WCW guy over one of its homegrown wrestling stars.
