Last Monday, Raw general manager Mick Foley confirmed that Kevin Owens will be defending his Universal Championship belt against Seth Rollins at the WWE Clash of Champions. In the clip shared via twitter below, Foley states he is “not putting that type of talent on the shelf,” referring to Rollins and guaranteed the rematch after Owens’ controversial win last August.

This will be Owens’ first title defense after he won the belt in a fatal four-way match against Roman Reigns, Big Cass and Seth Rollins, where the current champ received much help from the King of Kings, Triple H.
Rollins, on-other-hand, seems to be turning into Raw’s “good guy,” ever since the wrestler turned on Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to break up the Shield in 2014. He was also initially suspended by Stephanie McMahon after he had attacked Owens during the champ’s coronation ceremony. Thankfully, Foley butted in and set the match between the two wrestlers at Clash of Champions.
Other rumored matches that could happen at the WWE Clash of Champions include a bout for the WWE United States Championship between Roman Reigns and title holder Rusev. Reigns will be coming from his win at Smackdown, while Rusev from his successful title defense against Jack Swagger.
Also reported to be joining the Clash of Champions fray are the New Day, who could be going up against Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows for the WWE Tag Team Championship, and a WWE Women’s Championship match between Bayley and current champion, Charlotte.
The WWE Clash of Champions will be happening on September 25, 2016 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana.
