World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) have suffered yet another setback as one of their best in ring performers in Neville suffered an injury at the recent edition of Monday Night Raw. The wrestler from United Kingdom adds to the growing list of major superstars the company is already missing from the upcoming WrestleMania 32 owing to injuries.
Neville was working out a match with Chris Jericho when he suffered the setback. The 29-year-old tried a simple baseball slide between Y2J’s legs, however he caught his ankle during the maneuver leading to the injury.
Being a tough wrestler and an in ring performer, Neville tried to continue with the match and also performed a hurricanrana afterwards. But, the injury was clearly affecting his performance and Jericho was forced to perform a disqualification move to end the match after consulting with referee Charles Robinson.
After the match was over, the man from Newcastle, England was helped from the WWE ring as he was unable to put any weight on his injured ankle. It is suspected that Neville may have suffered a broken shin bone along with a broken ankle, as reported by whatculture.com.
With only a few weeks left for the biggest pay-per-view event of WWE to occur, it seems unlikely that Neville would be able to make an appearance. This is a shame since the former WWE NXT champion is considered as one of the best wrestlers within the company.
Neville had a good spot on the WrestleMania 32 card since he was to feature in the multi-man match for Kevin Owens’ Intercontinental Title. The miss from the event will also mean that “The man whom gravity forgot” would miss out on a big pay day.
Neville joins the likes of John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton who are all nursing injuries and will not be available at the Grand Daddy of them All.
