The WWE has recognized the rumors surrounding recently retired UFC fighter, Conor McGregor about joining the Vince McMahon’s company. Nothing has been confirmed, but if WWE is acknowledging these rumors, there is real interest in signing the Irishman.

In the midst of setting the internet on fire, McGregor started following some of the WWE’s top superstars on Twitter. Among them, are Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon and fellow Irish Becky Lynch.

“The Lass Kicker” even invited the UFC featherweight champion to join her in the WWE. Other Irish wrestlers on the WWE roster include 4-time WWE World champion Sheamus and current NXT champion Finn Balor.

Even McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh got into the act as he posted a photo of WWE Hall of Fame manager Jimmy Hart. It is captioned “new job uniform” possibly implying that he will be joining “Notorious” in the WWE.

If Conor McGregor decides to become a professional wrestler and sports entertainer, he will not be the first MMA fighter to do so. According to FOX Sports, Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn wrestled for the WWE back in the 1990s.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey also made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 31 last year. She is a known WWE fan and has expressed her intentions to wrestle for the company after her career in MMA.

Brock Lesnar is also a former UFC champion, but he started his career in the WWE. However, McGregor can become an attraction like Lesnar who just makes special appearances.

The 27-year-old can make an insane amount of money while not putting his body through rigorous training and weight cuts. He can also use the WWE as a platform to even further his brand and even make more money.

Again, nothing has been confirmed at the moment, but it’s a good sign that the WWE is recognizing the rumors surrounding Conor McGregor. The last time the WWE acknowledged a huge rumor like this was with A.J. Styles and it came true.
