The Royal Rumble Match is one of the most anticipated matches in the WWE. 30 superstars will compete to determine who is going to headline WrestleMania 33. The 2017 edition of the event is expected to be the biggest one in the past 20 years.

Many WWE rumors are swirling around regarding surprise entrants to the Royal Rumble. However, the most important thing is who is going to be the winner of the match. Here are SportsRageous’ Top 10 possible winners of the 2017 Royal Rumble Match.

10. Samoa Joe

Let’s start off with a surprise entrant in Samoa Joe. The two-time and current NXT champion is set to defend his title to Shinsuke Nakamura. There are reports stating that their feud is set to go even longer which makes this scenario unlikely.

However, Joe making his debut at Royal Rumble match will be a big deal. Winning the whole thing is another and the WWE will have a new monster heel to headline WrestleMania 33. He’s a full-time WWE superstar, unlike Brock Lesnar.

9. The Miz

What a year The Miz is having. He has made the Intercontinental championship great again after a series of title defenses. His character is the best pure heel in the WWE and it would not be a bad idea to have him win the Rumble match.

If The Miz wins the Rumble, he will probably go after the WWE World Championship. A.J. Styles needs to turn face first but it could a great story.

The Miz knows how to rip on internet and independent darlings on live television. Just ask SmackDown Live general manager Daniel Bryan.

8. Braun Strowman

The newest behemoth of the WWE is the new Big Show. He is the favorite to win the Royal Rumble match in the eyes of Michael Cole. Braun has also improved a lot in the ring and he will surely have a great showing in the match.

It is still too early to give Strowman a big push and made him headline a WrestleMania. However, he could be in line for a couple of big feuds in 2017. He is set to work with The Big Show to start the year before moving on to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33.

7. Roman Reigns

Speaking of Roman Reigns, he will always be a favorite to win the Royal Rumble match. He is currently in a feud with Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. He is still the United States champion but Vince McMahon might go crazy and put another belt on him.

Nevertheless, Reigns being demoted to the upper midcard is the best thing that has ever happened to him. He has improved his mic skills, as well as his in-ring ability. The WWE would not want another backlash if they book Reigns to win the Royal Rumble.

6. Seth Rollins

The Architect has been screwed out of the WWE Universal championship far too many times. He will surely feud with Chris Jericho up until early January and get his redemption.

Rollins could be higher on this list since he is already a full-fledged babyface. However, it is expected that he is going to face Triple H at WrestleMania 33.

5. Brock Lesnar

The Beast just got annihilated by Bill Goldberg at Survivor Series. Lesnar is expected to go into hiding for a month before returning at the Royal Rumble. He should be the favorite to win this match but the WWE is clearly planning something bigger for him.

The rumor is that the WWE is looking to book Lesnar vs. Goldberg III at WrestleMania 33. It surely resonates to the casual wrestling fans and buzz was created at Survivor Series. The WWE wants to have the same success at their biggest event of 2017.

4. Bill Goldberg

The 49-year-old superstar recently announced that he will compete in the Royal Rumble match. He teased one last title reign before retiring but it is just a setup. As mentioned earlier, the WWE’s plan is a rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

The set up for it would be Goldberg being already in the match while Lesnar makes a surprise appearance. They brawl in the ring and eliminate each other. Goldberg can still draw a lot of people but he is much better suited as an attraction just like Lesnar.

3. Chris Jericho

Why is Chris Jericho very high on this list? Well, because he deserves to win the Royal Rumble Match for the first time in his career. He also deserves one more title run and the cards are aligned for him to have a showdown with his best friend, Kevin Owens.

The 46-year-old is still going strong in his current run. The List of Jericho is over than half of the WWE roster. He has proven this year that he is one of the greatest of all time. He surely deserves one more run at WWE gold and fans are not opposed to it.

Why? Because we love The Gift of Jericho.

2. Finn Balor

It is still a long shot that Finn Balor returns at the Royal Rumble. The WWE will not clear him up unless he is fully healthy. He is going to be five months off of surgery come January and story are already there if he is 100 percent ready.

Balor returns at the Rumble and wins the match. He challenges Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship, a title he never lost, at WrestleMania 33.

1. John Cena

Look away John Cena haters, you will not like this. Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect is going to win the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. Why? Because Vince McMahon said so.

All the signs point out to Cena winning the Rumble and headlining WrestleMania 33. He will tie Stone Cold Steve Austin’s record for most Rumble victories, as well as tie Ric Flair’s record for most world titles in history.
