Ever since Conor McGregor has tweeted his retirement plans from Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the internet has gone crazy linking him to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). With the Irishman holding a special interest in professional wrestling, people were quick to believe in the rumor.

The speculation laid its foundation on the fact that Conor McGregor started following Triple H, Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon on Twitter right after his retirement tweet. This made everyone believes that the 27-year-old is interested in joining the Vince McMahon-owned wrestling promotion.

However, to clarify the rumor, McGregor started after the WWE personalities from WrestleMania 32 week. Although McGregor’s WWE status is unknown, it can be confirmed that he did not start after the company starts within the last couple of days. However, the man from Dublin, Ireland may very well be interested in sweating it out on the squared circle.

Meanwhile, on “The Steve Austin Show”, Stone Cold Steve Austin criticized the way WWE used Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 32. The Texas Rattlesnake stated that the holes of the current Heavyweight Champion were exposed when he was asked to work out a 28-minute chess match. Instead, the creative team should have made the match all about excitement, explosion, and more testosterone, according to PodcastOne.com.

NXT star Austin Aries commented on his previous employers Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) as a guest on Fightclub Chicago. When asked about the possible sale of the promotion, the 38-year-old wrestler said that it’s up to the owners to make the company viable where guys and girls can earn a living.

“The wrestling industry needs healthy, successful products and the more the better because that’s just more opportunities and jobs for the men and women who enjoy professional wrestling for a living.” Aries said.
