The WWE’s top draw is still Brock Lesnar and he will surely be on the match card for Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 33. The latest WWE rumors have revealed the possible opponents for Lesnar in the three big upcoming pay-per-views.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan for The Beast at Survivor Series is a match against the returning Bill Goldberg. The WWE is reportedly looking to get out of the two stars as much as possible for the promotion of the WWE 2K17 video game.
“Goldberg is coming back to wrestle Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, unless something’s changed. It’s scheduled. It’s cleared with Lesnar, everything’s setup. All I know is Vince McMahon had that scheduled,” Meltzer said.
On the other hand, WWE rumors backstage indicate that Lesnar will challenge Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble. However, it is not yet set in stone since the rumored match for The Beast at WrestleMania 33 is against Shane McMahon.
“WWE already has plans for Brock Lesnar that they’re not changing. Whatever they are and I guess Shane McMahon probably is if you watch the TV and everything,” Meltzer added.
If the WWE wants a Shane vs. Lesnar match at WrestleMania 33, the WWE Universal Title will surely not be on the line. It is a personal storyline that was built at SummerSlam when Lesnar hit the F5 on Shane-O-Mac.
Shane’s last match was at WrestleMania 32 when he was defeated by The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match. He has recovered from all of his injuries from that match and he is currently the SmackDown Live commissioner.
Nevertheless, these are just WWE rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. But one thing is for sure: Brock Lesnar will be present for the Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 33.
