From opponents to partners and back to opponents again.
The Chris Jericho vs AJ Styles rivalry has reached boiling point over the past few weeks. They have scored victories against one another. Adding a Chris Jericho vs AJ Styles in the “Show of Shows” is definitely something worth watching. But what kind of match can these two exciting stars engage in at Wrestlemania? An article in Daily DDT offer some suggestions and let us take a look at some of them:
30-Minute Iron Man Match
Y2J has been involved in some of the best matches in Wrestlemania history. The Phenomenal One has been impressive since his move to the WWE. Style for style, the two are a joy to watch. And what a better way to fuel their rivalry than in a 30-minute Iron Man match?
In the history of Wrestlemania, there had been only one Iron Man match so far and it happened in Wrestlemania 12 between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart. The match went the full 60 minutes without a winner so WWF President Gorilla Monsoon ordered sudden death overtime. In less than a couple of minutes, Michaels hit Sweet Chin Music on Hart scoring the pin and winning the title. Adding another match of such nature will surely make the battle an epic one.
These two wrestlers own some of the best submission moves in the business. Chris Jericho has made many opponents tap out to Walls of Jericho. Styles have his own submission move which he calls the Calf Crusher. Known for their aerial moves, putting Jericho and Styles in a submission match would make it more interesting.
Wrestlemania 13 witnessed one of the greatest submission matches between Stone Cold and Bret Hart. The match saw Austin passing out and losing the match while locked in the Sharpshooter.
Chris Jericho is one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the WWE. AJ Styles is upcoming and one of the future stars of the company. Come Wrestlemania Jericho has an opportunity to prove to Styles that he is indeed one of the greatest. Styles, however, may want to remove one obstacle before moving on with bigger plans.
