The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is one of the highlights of WrestleMania weekend every year. This year’s class has not been announced but the first name has been revealed on the rumor mill and it’s a former WCW superstar.
Diamond Dallas Page to be inducted?
According to PW Insider Elite (h/t FOX Sports), Diamond Dallas Page is one of the legends who will be part of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame Class. He reportedly won’t be the headliner but he is going to be inducted this year.
DDP worked for WWE from 2001 to 2002 but he was mainly known for his run with WCW. He was one of the main stars of the company and he battled the WWE during the Monday Night Wars. He also worked for TNA wrestling but he returned to WWE in 2011.
DDP’s career highlights
Diamond Dallas Page is a three-time WCW world champion and a two-time WCW United States champion. He had a memorable feud with “Macho Man” Randy Savage in 1997 and his heel run in 1999 was one of the best in WCW history.
DDP also held championships during his brief tenure in the WWE. He is a one-time European champion and he won the WWE tag team titles with Chris Kanyon. He had a forgettable run with the company but his best accomplishment might have been his work outside the ring.
The three-time WCW World champion developed a yoga fitness program he called DDP Yoga. It has helped several stars recover from their health and mental problems like Scott Hall and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Chris Jericho has also praised DDP Yoga for preserving his career while Mick Foley used it lose more than 100 pounds in one year.
