In the latest report from F4WOnline (h/t Wrestle Zone), the WWE plans to make SmackDown a legitimate brand that could rival Raw. Making Cena the face of the brand can help boost its ratings as he is mainstream personality.
The report also pointed out that the USA Network pushed the WWE to bring back the brand extension because the network was very unhappy with the low ratings of SmackDown. The two parties then decided that going live will solve that problem and having a separate, distinct roster will give the show its own identity.
SmackDown is a taped show that is why there are many spoilers are given away on the internet. Going live is a good strategy since fans will have to tune in more. However, the WWE will need to have good storylines to keep those people hooked on the show.

Lesnar has not been seen on WWE TV since his win over Dean Ambrose at WreslteMania 32. His next appearance is expected to be before SummerSlam and it will be a very big deal.
