Dave Bautista, more famously known as former WWE superstar Batista, has been very successful outside of wrestling. According to latest WWE rumors, John Cena was one of the main reasons why he left the company in 2010.

In an appearance on the MLW Radio’s Writers Room, Batista revealed that he was frustrated with the WWE because he was not given the same opportunities as Cena. The 47-year-old wanted to try his hand in acting but he was told that he was just their “property” and he needs to get to work.

“It just seemed a little unfair to me that I’m still out there busting my ass to do these shows while he’s making movies and getting paid a butt load of money to make these movies. So I simply asked a question, ‘Is there any opportunity for me to do films?’ and there wasn’t,” Batista said, via Wrestling Inc.

As for the way he was treated before his 2010 exit, The Animal mentioned that he gave his notice to the WWE a year earlier. He noted that only a few people said thanks and sent their well wishes to him. He also revealed that he suffered a broken back in his last match against Cena.

“It was sad, man. It really put things in perspective on where I stood with them. I left there with a broken back. Not a lot of people realize that or appreciate that, but in my last match with Cena, I broke my back,” Batista said.

Even with all of that drama, Batista returned to the WWE in 2014 but he was poorly booked by the company. He left just after six months, appearing at an NXT live event on June 12. He was offered a role for WrestleMania 32 but he turned it down.

Batista has had a very successful acting career than Cena with starring roles in films such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre, and Heist. He’s also going to be in future movies such as Kickboxer: Vengeance, Kickboxer: Retaliation, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the Blade Runner sequel.
