Kurt Angle has spent his time on the independent circuit after leaving TNA earlier this year. He has been rumored to be coming back to the WWE but there are no concrete reports about it. However, it seems like he is WWE bound as recent reports imply that he is no longer taking independent bookings starting in April.
Kurt Angle return to WWE confirmed?
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (h/t The Inquisitr), Angle has been telling promoters that he is no longer taking indie dates. The Olympic Hero reasons that he is returning to the WWE that is why he can’t be booked anymore in April.
Angle is set to compete against Alberto Del Rio and Cody Rhodes in the next couple of months. However, he is no longer scheduled for any shows after that and his WWE return might finally be happening.
When will Kurt Angle return?
The 48-year-old wrestling legend is also reportedly telling promoters that he will be coming to WWE in April. There is no specific date but WrestleMania 33 is on April 2 at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
Angle can easily make his return at the Grandest Stage of Them All but it is likely unlikely. He is better off showing up on the Raw after WrestleMania 33 since it’s the best non-PPV show of the year. Brock Lesnar made his return on that same show back in 2012 after WrestleMania 29.
Concerns about Kurt Angle
There were a lot of reasons why the WWE and Vince McMahon have not brought Angle back. They are worried about his health (five neck surgeries) and his history of addiction. However, Angle has remained healthy in the past couple of years and he has been sober for more than three years.
