Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar are set to have a non-title bout on the upcoming WWE pay-per-view (PPV) SummerSlam. Orton seems confident about his chances against the Beast Incarnate and feels that the 1 in 21-1 can be finished with just one RKO.
“It just takes one RKO, at least, I’m hoping,” Orton said, as reported by TMZ.
The 36-year-old third-generation WWE superstar also wants to be the top dog in the company and defeating Lesnar at SummerSlam will be a stepping stone towards that goal. However, the man from Knoxville, Tennessee understands that it won’t be an easy task.
“I know I’m gonna get tossed around that ring like a rag doll. But I also know what it takes to beat Brock.” Orton added.
The Viper is really hopeful that he will win against Lesnar despite his long layoff from a shoulder injury, which he suffered back in October, 2015.
Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has kept himself busy fighting in the UFC. He defeated Mark Hunt in a non-title fight at UFC 200. However, Lesnar’s win was marred by controversy. The wrestler was found to have violated the anti-doping policy of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Despite Brock’s violation, the PPV bout will still happen, giving the fans a duel between two of the most accomplished WWE superstars of the present era.
WWE SummerSlam is slated to take place on August 21, 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
