The WWE is preparing for the upcoming brand extension that will not only affect the main roster, but also the NXT brand where future superstars hone their skills. According to the latest WWE rumors, two Ring of Honor stars are going to sign with the biggest wrestling company in the world in the coming weeks.

As mentioned in a previous report, the USA Network’s pursuit of higher ratings for SmackDown has led to the show airing live every Tuesday starting on July 19. The WWE decided to split its roster to bolster SmackDown’s chances of increasing its viewers.

Many are expecting the WWE to call up superstars from NXT which may lead to the brand losing its drawing power. However, it is expected that the company will sign more superstars from the independent scene and the latest are two stars from ROH.

According to The Wrestling Observer (h/t Wrestle Zone), former NFL player and current ROH star, Moose, will likely join WWE in the coming weeks when his ROH deal expires. Moose played for NFL teams like the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Rams as an offensive tackle before pursuing a career in wrestling.

The 32-year-old is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound athletic freak that WWE chairman Vince McMahon loves. He has progressed really well in his wrestling career since starting in 2012 as he was named Pro Wrestling Illustrated 2015 Rookie of the Year.

On the other hand, What Culture noted that Roderick Strong’s ROH contract is also set to expire. His veteran experience is needed in NXT, especially if the likes of Austin Aries and Samoa Joe get called up to the main roster.

Strong is just the same age as Moose, but he has been in the wrestling industry for 16 years. He has won world championships at different independent promotions such as ROH and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

The WWE certainly needs new superstars for NXT and it looks like they need the likes of Moose and Roderick Strong to keep the brand going. Nonetheless, these are all just speculations at this point but all signs point to both stars signing with the WWE in the coming weeks.
