WWE SummerSlam 2016 is still a month away but there are already some rumored matches that are going to happen at the biggest event of the summer. Here are the latest rumors and possible match card for WWE SummerSlam 2016.

  • Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton

The official website of the WWE still lists Lesnar vs. Orton as a WWE SummerSlam 2016 match. It is despite the two failed drug tests for Lesnar after his UFC 200 match against Mark Hunt. There are still questions surrounding the match but it is still a go at the moment.

According to Wrestling Inc, Lesnar may have never been drug tested by the WWE because he is not a full-time performer. The applicability of WWE’s Wellness Policy states that:

“This Policy, as it may be amended from time to time, is applicable to and binding upon all WWE Talent under contract to WWE who regularly perform in-ring services as a professional sports entertainer (“WWE Talent”).”

  • John Cena vs. A.J Styles

The WWE universe will be treated to John Cena vs. A.J. Styles II at WWE SummerSlam 2016. Both superstars were drafted to SmackDown Live, which sets up the build for their second encounter. With Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson becoming exclusive to Monday Night Raw, Cena vs. Styles II will be a true one-on-one contest.

  • Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE Women’s Championship

Charlotte and Sasha Banks will be involved in a tag team match at WWE Battleground. The Boss’ team is expected to win that match to set up the title match at SummerSlam. Both women are exclusive to Raw so there is no problem booking this match.

  • Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer (h/t Cageside Seats), the planned WWE championship match for SummerSlam before the 30-day suspension fiasco was Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns.  Even though Dean Ambrose is the WWE champion, he will likely drop it to either man at Battleground.

  • Shane McMahon vs. Triple H

As mentioned above, the Lesnar vs. Orton match is in jeopardy because of the two failed drug tests by Lesnar. The Inquisitr suggested that a Shane McMahon vs. Triple H matchup could save the WWE SummerSlam 2016 match card.
